We live in Forest Hills and there are a number of nursing centers nearby. Naturally we did some research and visited these places instead on relying solely on reviews. Fairview was one of those well kept place. Everyone was accommodating and we noticed they have multilingual staff as well. So we placed my brother here and we were satisfied with the level of care. Plus points also they helped us with my brother’s insurance. Their medicaid coordinator was very knowledgable and helpful. We had a good experience with this facility and are happy with Fairview.... This place should be shut down, illegal practices, horrifying service, liars will say anything you want to hear and never follow through, we never thought we'd encounter such incompetence and lack of care. Sweethearts when you first arrive there, but it's all a scam, they just want to get paid and don't give a [removed] about people, doing their job, or anything else!

Although there are good, caring people working at Fairview, it is poorly managed. I could not get a doctor to return my call until after I took my dad to the hospital where subsequently he tested positive for Covid. They also did not send necessary information to his long term care insurance when we were looking into other options, but Fairview sent the long term care company a bill even though it was already paid by Medicare. If you don't advocate for your loved one, they will not get the necessary attention. We advocated daily and still received little help.

Understaffed, and outright lying about mom’s condition. She came to rehab after broken hip and left in an ambulance after I had to call 911 because they refused to assist when it was clear she was declining. I was told all her vitals were strong and they were treating her. She arrived at ER after a month here with covid, UTI, malnourished, dehydrated. I was told she gained 2 pounds when in fact she lost 15-20 pounds. I was told she was covid negative but she arrived at ER & tested positive. I was told she was being treated for UTI for a week but still had it. All her clothes were caked in excrement including socks. The food was always cold and inedible and she sat in a dirty diaper for 3 hours at a time. After a month in rehab she still is unable to stand up on her own because she never actually had any rehab for her hip. Also they refuse to provide medical records to the patient. I filled out the form and have received nothing 10 days later.

A Place for Mom has scored Fairview Nursing Care Center 5.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
