The care is good, the employees are friendly and the place us clean but the food is the worst of any nursing center I have ever visited in and I do not understand how you can feed elderly people the meals you do, it is shameful. The administrators should sit down for a meal and see if they would feed their Mom or Dad the stuff they serve.... Read more

At first glance, the Scallop Shell looks clean, and bright with an atmosphere of a well kept home. Their rehab services are adequate, but if you are in need of long term care, that's where you need to look more closely. Although they advertise as a facility that has memory care, it is extremely limited. The nursing staff is inconsistent in their communication with family members, and the turn over of staff is high. Therefore, your loved ones see new staff often, and the staff are not as experienced to assess medical situations. I would not recommend this facility for long term care based on my experience of having a loved one there for over three years.
