My husband was brought to Briarwood after under going surgery for a brain tumor. After 6 weeks at Briarwood, he was in worse condition than the day he arrived. He wound up being taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of an infected bed sore, so bad that his bone was showing. Over a week later he is still in the hospital getting treated for this wound by an infectious disease team along with plastic surgeons. The only time I received an update from the facility was when I contacted them. I was told he was doing ok and that the wound was looking better. Unfortunately, being unable to visit and see for myself, I had to take their word for it. I could go on and on with my complaints. Over a week later I'm still waiting for some clarification on his care. I'm sure people have gone here and had great rehab stories. Unfortunately this isn't one of them. It breaks my heart to know that he lost 6 weeks lying in bed getting weaker instead of stronger, despite my repeated comments to them that I felt he was getting worse instead of better. I'm not a complainer normally. I just don't want anyone else to go through the pain and suffering my husband has endured. If there was a bright spot there, it was [name removed], the social worker assigned to his case. She was extremely supportive.

They do a good job. The therapists do a good job of knowing my loved one's limitations.

It's clean. The staff is somewhat friendly. Communication needs to be a little better. They just need to communicate a lot better to the family members about the care of the patient.

They weren't able to provide the level of care that my cousin needed.

The Physical therapy has been very good. For the staff, some are great but getting a shower everyday for my loved one seems to be the biggest concern at this time.

I am most pleased overall, with my loved one being there. I think the staff cares but they are understaffed and overworked sometimes.

The medical staff is doing a great job taking care of my loved one! The social worker that was there was outstanding! I haven't had too many interactions with the new social worker.

We looked at a lot of facilities when deciding where to bring her. This place is immaculately clean, and my mother likes the food and the people. When she needs them, they're good. The therapy services were one of the reasons we choose Briarwood. The food always looks good and my mother eats it, even though she is pretty picky. The communication has been great.

So far my loved one has been at Briarwood for a couple of weeks and so far we are very happy. You know, I may even come here myself! My brother seems to be really coming along with the therapy! That staff has been great so far. The meals look good and he hasn't been complaining about them.

My father had trays of cold meals left for him. The only people who helped him cut his food and drink his fluid were me, my brother, and mother. His nurse call button wasn’t left within his reach. He had to sleep in his own feces and urine. His stay here was utterly miserable. Less than a week from being released to hospice care, he passed with a huge open sores on his back and feet.

My mom had good physical therapy care. There was some miscommunication with Social Worker but she kept me up to date. People were very friendly. The front desk was okay. The laundry did get mixed up a little bit, so it took me a few days to get her clean laundry.
