Wonderful experience

It's a small group home, ladies only. There's room for 8 +, I believe, but they limit it to 6 residents at a time. The owner lives there, too. It was a big move from nearly 35 yrs of living in her home in AZ to moving back to MI to a group home. But [name removed] (owner) and the staff made it an easy transition for mom as well as for my brother & me. Mom left AZ with a medical issue (a toe infection that hadn't been treated properly at [facility name removed]) and [name removed] was integral to helping to line up medical care right away and taking on that extra home care that was needed to resolve the infection. The Best Care folks are great about communicating with us if they observe any issues or when mom needs anything on our end. My mom truly feels at home there and really well cared for. She routinely says, "They treat me like a queen." :) My mom would likely give the food a lower score bc she wants more salt - - which she shouldn't have. And the "activities" aren't necessarily very active given the limitations of the ladies who live there. They're currently all in the late 80s-early 90s age range and vary in terms of their physical & cognitive abilities. But they have things like a woman who comes in w her guitar to play for them, all the residents get little holiday gifts/decor for valentines day, Easter, days, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions about Best Care Plus Living Center

A Place for Mom has scored Best Care Plus Living Center 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
